You may not have yet heard of the band Buffalo Gospel, so let me be the first to introduce you to this super talented group before they blow up! (I’ve already told them to not forget me when they’re famous). I came to know BG through my friend, whose brother-in-law just so happens to be the lead singer, Ryan Necci.
So, when she invited me to cover the show, I was excited, but I thought that it was highly likely that she was slightly bias when she kept raving about how good they are. But then I got a copy of their new album, “On the First Bell” before it released and I was blown away. I was wrong. Lord, was I wrong. They are amazing and they put on a hell of a show (they were decked out in cheesy western apparel and Ryan even stood on the drums at the end LOL). As a matter of fact, Ryan was sporting a Whitney Houston t-shirt prior to the show. So, they’re a little funny, too. I don’t even know the best way to describe BG, so let me borrow a line from their website that sums them up perfectly:
“The band’s wildcat live performances take listeners to a dusty, forlorn, but strangely familiar place that simply gets sweeter with time.”
Their genre is similar to the likes of Mumford & Sons, Alison Krauss, Kacey Musgraves, Band of Horses, Sturgill Simpson, and Chris Stapleton. So, if you love any of those artists, then you’re gonna love BG!
Be sure to check out their event calendar and catch one of their shows! This is a show that your husband will actually enjoy going to- hell, he’ll probably have an even better time than you! 😉
