Last week, I gave Hello Fresh a try! If you don’t know what Hello Fresh is, it’s a food delivery service that sends you all of the ingredients, along with recipe cards, right to your door. Each week, you can login to your account, view the available dinner options for the upcoming weeks, and select which ones you’d like to have delivered. I also like that it’s really flexible, and you can make changes online. You can also skip a week (or more), if you need to do so, and you can change plans, number of servings, etc.
They have a few different options: A veggie plan, Classic Plan and a Family plan, ranging from $8.74-$9.99/serving.
I have to say, that, it is a little pricey, so it really depends on how much you would value having something like this. If you’re a working mom, super busy mom or even just someone who would love some new recipes and dinner ideas, then this is right up your alley!
I was a little skeptical about Hello Fresh when I first received my box, for a couple of reasons. One, it didn’t seem like very much food. I ordered the family plan, which is for 4 people, and when I got my box, I didn’t think it would be enough to feed myself, 2 kids and my 6’8 husband. Two, I didn’t really love the recipe options that I saw on the website. It seemed a little too fancy, if I’m being honest. We’re from the south, where Mac & Cheese is considered a vegetable, so some of the options on Hello Fresh just didn’t seem all that southern.
But, needless to say, I was really surprised. Like, really surprised. There ended up being PLENTY of food (we actually had an extra serving) and it was SO DARN GOOD. That steak was to die for (see below):
I was so excited to try the chicken recipe the next day, that I almost forgot to take a picture for y’all:
Both of the recipes were really good, and I’m really excited to have a few new recipes to add to our usual’s. I also really liked the fact that the recipes were 30-35 minutes to make, and that they required me to re-use the same pan (less dishes). The kids also really liked both dinners from our first week.
So, overall, I would definitely recommend Hello Fresh, and I’ll be continuing my subscription to snag some more great recipes!
